The vast wasteland of Gath is arid, with varying yearly precipitation from 1-50 cm of water.
The southernmost part, the Hamada (region), is mostly flat, with jutting mesas every dozen or so miles, each up to a mile across. The ground is a thin layer of clay atop lots of sandstone. Here live the Haraian People, nomadic humans whose vast herds of bovines and ovines live off the sparse, grassy vegetation. There are over a hundred different tribes over this region of about a hundred thousand square miles. They are a free-trading, collective, each with a small government which includes an official representative to the UHT. They worship each god equally--each god has a day every moon--but try to ingore divinity during their every day lives.
North of the Hamada is the extremely arid, sand covered area of the Arahiab People, a dark-skinned human race that travels from oasis to oasis in constand search for food. They have a rich polygamist culture, and worship Raza as the only true god.
North of Arahaib are the short Stony Mountains, a mountain range that is inhabited by Orcs and Goblins, who live in mountain villages and inside vast mountain cave-catacombs, respectively. The Orc's culture is violent, with personal strength and might being highly valued. It is anarchist and leaderless, though if you're smart you'll listen to the strongest orcs around. The goblins are extremely tribal, and are led by Firia-worshipping Shamans.
North of the Stony Mountains are the Northern Reaches.
