Jurmenum glanced around the small classroom with a sigh. Once again, the class wasn't full. Not that it had ever been full. There was always someone missing because of a few burns from a mis-casted spell or something.
Perhaps teaching at a mage's boarding school wasn't the best idea he ever had.
He continued musing even as he dodged a bolt of "accidentally" misfired lightning.
"Watch where you're aiming that!" Jurmenum roared at the class, who paid no attention. The instructer let out another sigh, trying to ignore the queasy feeling in his stomach as a few girls simpered at one of the more "attractive" boys in the class. ~~~ J'kysta fondled a charm pretty silver pendant and practically purred. "Old fool, he didn't even know I stole this from his collection!" She whispered gleefully, and pocketed the little trinket again.
Little did she know the trouble it would soon cause for her.....But that was another story entirely.
Grinning at Ryusama, the so-called "sexiest and smartest" boy in the class, J'kysta "accidentally" summoned a parrot, which promptly flew and pecked at Jurmenum's tonsured head.

Toranaga, being the misfit that he was, sat away from the little clicks, the thunder cloud he was playing coincidently firing bolts of lightning at anyone who made as to come towards him. He didn't seem to notice the girls eyeing him. He had that 'bad boy' thing goin' for him without him noticing or caring(which was sorta part of why it worked for him). Bored, he mde a copy of himself, perfect right down to the deep breaths as it slept through the class. That done, he teleported out into the hall way while his lightning storm kept the teach from investigating the clone.

Rasfia was an underdog in the cliques. She failed to fit in with them. Her family couldn't afford the fancy clothes and she had trouble with the unspoken rules everyone followed in the clique. But she'd finally managed to join one. But one could tell that she didn't really fit in. Her hair was a muddy brown and furiously curly and tangled.
She was searching rater mournfully for a boy to bat her eyelashes at. More specifically, a boy to bat her eyelashes at without being glared at by one of her clique...Which might as well be impossible. Rasfia sighed looking down at her textbook. A little bit of lightning popped up in her hand surprising her. She hadn't gotten any spells to work before.

Ik'mona flicked one thick, unnaturally bouncy, jet black curl over one slender, perfectly shaped shoulder. She batted her long, silky, black eyelashes at that absolutely gorgeous Ryusama, then, once he had looked the other way, turned and batted her eyelashes at Toranaga... who, of course, ignored her, which made her a bit angry. In this dump of a school, she was Queen Bee of her clique, and she did not enjoy being ignored... although, she'd learned to expect it from Toranaga by now.
I'll get you someday, she thought venomously, narrowing her brilliant sapphire-blue at him. It was impossible for her not to. She was a master at eyelash-batting. Other girls made it annoying, cheesy, and coy... she felt that she'd raised it to an art form by now.
She pretended to absentmindedly poke, prod, and primp at her hair, giving herself a small, self-satisfied smirk at all the non-so-subtle looks she was getting. Or was she just imagining them...?
That was when she caught that little rat, Rasfia, scanning the room, undoubtedly for some guy to bat those stunted mud-colored eyelashes at. That was absolutely unacceptable.
Using the lightning cloud she'd conjured up as cover, she leaned across the aisle and gripped Rasfia by the arm of her moldy old dress, her clawlike painted nails digging into the girl's arm.
"What do you think you're doing?" she hissed dangerously. "Don't think I don't know what you're up to!"

"Aw, leave her alone, 'Mona!" Ryusama purred, sidling up with almost no sound. His voice was rich and deep, just like his dark, intense eyes. "She isn't worth it." He let out a low, purring chuckle. "It's not like any decent male would actually consider going out with her, hmm?"
He leant in closer. "Not like you, my dear." Ryusama all but purred. ~~~ J'kysta spotted Ryusama so close to that little--, well, 'Kyst had quite a few names for Ik'mona, none of which should probably have appeared in polite conversation. Still and all, it incensed J'kysta to see the two so close together.
Perhaps Ryusama was just concerned about that little shrew of a girl, Ras-somethingorother. Still, J'kysta was certain Ryusama liked her. Liked liked her, actually. Well, he was smart, she'd give him that.
"You wait, Monny, I'll get you yet." J'kysta muttered.

Giving a light, coy giggle, Ik'mona slid her slender fingers over Ryusama's shoulder. They'd dated more than once before, and it definitely looked like another relationship was coming on. Graduation was speeding towards them, and Mona couldn't help feeling that, this time, she and Ryu had a real chance at having a lifelong relationship.
"Mmmmnnn, yummy," she purred, letting her pale forehead touch his. After pulling away, she gave Rasfia a hard shove with her free hand before using Ryu's shoulder to pull herself to her feet.
"Let's get somewhere private," she murmured into his ear, touching one defined cheekbone to his. Students constantly skipped out on classes... it was quite common knowledge.

Rasfia bit her tongue when she felt sharp polished nails dig into her dirty dress. "I was studying like you're supposed to be," she said indignantly her amber eyes darting back to the foreign words that were printed in t he ancient textbook. What in the world did that mean? She sighed. She'd never gotten anything written in that book to actually work.
When she heard Ryusma telling Mona off she felt a glimmer of hope. To be squashed a mere second later. All the kids were so cruel. Playing tricks with their words and dating two...three....maybe even more if they were real cheaters people. Especially the queen bees. They flitted around and changed hands at least five times each week. But Rasfia could not help but envy them. And their looks.

"Of course, my dear." Ryusama murmured, taking hold of her elbow, and turning her to face the door. "Ladies first. Or would you prefer a teleportation spell?" He chuckled quietly. ~~~ Jurmenum started to yell at Ryu and Mona, but decided against it. Everyone skipped out of class at least once. Besides, that parrot was annoying him. He swatted at it, but it only flew higher, with what sounded like racous, mocking laughter.
"Rasfia! Get rid of that bird!" He ordered. ~~~ 'Kyst scowled, as Ryusama and that little (insert something rather inappropriate for this site) prepared to leave. Just to frustrate Icky Ik'mona, J'kysta stalked over, deliberately ignoring the two.
"Hello, Ras." 'Kyst purred, that being the only part of Rasfia's name she could remember, "Need any help?"

Ik'mona's vivacious grin was cut short by the appearance of that nasty little J'kysta. Oh yes, they'd been friends once, from the very first day of school to around their fifth year. That was when Mona realized that she would have to make some sacrifices for popularity, which was becoming ever more crucial, and that one of them was her quirky weirdo of a best friend. It hadn't taken long for the two of them to begin fighting for Ryusama's attention after Ik'mona ditched her for another clique. Of course, Mona knew she had won. Hands down. And that thought made her fluff her curls contemptuously, flicking her jet-black hair in 'Kysta's nasty narrow face.
"Aaaw, Rasfia, you've finally got your first friend," she said, her sneer almost unnoticeable. "What can I say... freaks of a feather flock together!"
Turning her back on them, she giggled deviously and flung her arms around Ryu's neck. "I haven't quite gotten the hang of the multi-person spell yet... no doubt you have, since you're just way too smart!" She giggled again as she tapped his nose with the tip of one long claw. "Let's see it, then. No doubt old Jurmy won't notice!"

"I'll catch it," she said snatching the parrot out of mid-air easily. She'd done it quite a few times before. The teachers seemed to expect her to catch the animals and other odd creatures that the students created or altered. The other girls shrieked if there were mice and batted their eyelashes at their boyfriends. They would sneer at most everything else, and if not they'd simply ignore it.
"Hi," she said although she had no clue who it was at all. She was trying to remember what the stupid spell was to get rid of the purple parrot that was screeching loudly and pecking at her hands. She wondered who'd summoned this beast. She was coming to the end of her nerves. If she couldn't find the stupid spell she was just going to break the parrot's neck and throw it out t he window.

"And you, Ik'mona, still can't perform even basic spells." J'kysta tossed back, her cheeks flaming red, aware that her insult was less than okay. Well, she wasn't the one with words.
What had happened? She and Mona used to be so close....But now....
With an angry huff and a toss of her hair, J'kysta flounced away, unaware that she had just missed being whipped on the face by Ik'mona's curls. She couldn't stand the sight of Monny's malicious little smile. That little imp!
"Give me that!" J'kysta snapped, and snatched the parrot away from Rasfia. She immediately smiled apologetically, aware that she had sounded...harsh. "Sorry 'bout that, she's one of mine. I call her Thyst. Accidentally dyed her feathers purple, so I feel that I owe her something."
The parrot was strangely tame in J'kysta's hands, and let out a soft caw, snuggling deep into Kysta's arms.
"You can have her if you like." J'kysta offered. "I've got...plenty more. Not that the teachers know about it." ~~~ Ryusama stepped back slightly, and flung an arm around Ik'mona's neck, drawing her close. "Stand still." He whispered, and murmured the spell under his breath, along with another to take them out of this excuse for a classroom.
Blinking slightly to clear the slight disorientation that came from even the most well-cast teleportation spell, Ryusama spotted Toranaga. Almost unconsciously, he drew Ik'mona even closer.
Ik'mona might not know, but Ryusama was not close to the top of the school for nothing. He knew that Ik'mona liked Toranaga. Or at least wanted him.
No doubt Ik'mona will be a fine follower of Farain.

Ik'mona gave a squeal of surprise when she saw Toranaga. Wasn't he just in the classroom?
This was a tricky situation, she knew, and not the first of its kind that the Queen Bee had been in. Undoubtedly, she could never miss a chance to flirt with Toranaga... the only boy she had never even... even dated! The very thought got her fired up. It was her last year at school, and Toranaga was her ultimate goal. Grades were completely at the other end of the spectrum, of course.
But with Ryusama standing right there, about to take her off on a romantic adventure (probably into his bedroom), she couldn't flirt without making him too jealous. Yes, it was tricky... but maneuverable. Mona was experienced.
"I guess we're not the only ones out on an excursion, Ryu," she said, her voice falling to a purr, as she twisted one black curl slowly around her finger. She kept one arm around her boy toy, and although she turned to face him, shot Toranaga an extremely flirty glance out of the corner of her eye.

Rasfia's hands clutched around air for a moment when the parrot was snatched out of her hands. She looked confused and her head bobbed up quickly to face J'kysta. "Your parrot?" she asked her voice clearly full of annoyance,"you died the feathers?" she asked her face creasing. Quite obviously however that parrot wasn't the first of those poor animals that ended up being mutated because of the students in this classroom.
"Well please don't make any more," she said her voice returning to a quiet sigh. Honestly she would have loved to take the parrot home but her mother would have dissapproved and told her to take it outside. They had enough mouths to feed already without a purple parrot. Her mother expected her to learn well here so that she could later get a good job. But Rasfia still couldn't master the most simple of spells.

Toranaga laughed, replying,"You too never grow up, do you?" then he muttered some spell, and deliberately turned his back on Ik'mona, yelling over his shoulder,"You too have fun while it lasts." before walking through a wall back into the classroom.
What was the point of skipping out if you were just going to be followed? See he burnt up the clone of himself and took his seat, watching the little parrot spectacle with slight amusement, before walking up to Rasfia and commenting politely, but with a little bit of mischief,"You're petty good with animals."
Which was considered strange by the classroom, seeing how it was one of the few that Toranaga actually spoke to anyone, and it was to Rasmia, someone way down the classroom food chain.
