There was a world of peace, love. Animals ruled it, never once having seen a human as there are no such things in this world. There was magic, though primitive and rarely used. It was a wonderful world to live in.
Until he was born into it. Wyvern, a huge black dragon that wanted nothing more than to rule this world with his claws dipped in blood. A war raged between tribes, Light and Dark. It raged for decades, never ending as the horrid Black Warrior fought on, none able to touch him or his immortal life. Until three came though the mists of legend to rescue the inhabitances of the world. They fought tooth and claws, one a wolf, another a weasel, the last a horse, to bring peace back to the world. However, there was a catch.
All three fought on the side of the Dark, side by side with the cruel dragon. No one knows whether this was their choice, or if the Dragon’s magic was powerful enough to overtake the Chosen one’s minds. But they fought, the Light finally falling to the Dragon and his tribe. The war over, the Dragon dismissed the Three, who turned on him to gain his power. Finally slaughtered, the Dragon lay in front of all the world’s inhabitance; his blood soaking into the ground at their hooves and paws. That was the day the world died.
Darkness that swept over the land, polluting the waters and air, tinting the sky a dull gray forever. Any who drank, or breathed lost their magic, trapped forever without power save for tooth, fang, and claw. Wherever the Dragon’s blood touched burned, scorched and marred. Those covered in it were turned the deepest black, eaten from the inside out by the magic that had powered the giant heart. They became soulless, hateful. Feared, they were quickly thrown out of the presence of the others. The Three, who were covered in the giant’s blood, became their leaders, and plotted their return; however, they were never heard from again.
The Dark who had won took their defeated foe, turning them into slaves to obey their every whim. The few that had not been in either tribe ran, becoming free beasts so as to try and free those that were now spoken over. This is the world now, divided into Master, Slave, and Free. In a bleak, black world, there is little joy.
