Name of Plane: Mayskad Anas
People Groups: The only beings that inhabit Mayskad Anas are a group of humanoids known as Maysk. All of them, including newborn infants, wear masks, which is why Mayskad Anas is sometimes nicknamed "Plane of Masks". If you're a Maysk but don't have a mask, then you're either an exile, sentenced to die, or a demon. None of these are good things. Maysk never take off their masks until their adulthood ceremony, even when eating or drinking.
Childhood masks are for people under the age of eighteen. They are sometimes quite crude, and one can easily tell the difference between childhood masks and adulthood masks. Childhood masks are known as "Chaldhayd Maysks" among the Maysk.
Adulthood masks, however, are a different matter. All are finely crafted by specialists, and all are true masterpieces. Maysk wearing adulthood masks are described to be 'humans with an animal head'. An adulthood mask is also known as a "Aydalthayd Maysk".
Adulthood masks are assigned to a person based on traits and the own person's choice. Childhood masks are assigned by a child's parents or guardians. The only two times a Maysk ought to be unmasked is just after their birth, and during their adulthood ceremony. There is some type of charm on the mask that prevents it from getting dirty. Also, one cannot change their mask. Ever.
Most Maysk live in tribes scattered around Mayskad Anas. Each tribe has a leader. There is also a rumor that a leader of a tribe has a ceremony performed upon him or her where she has to change to a mask given by their deities. Mask-makers are granted a special place in society.
Geography: Similar to the more 'ordinary' worlds. Mayskad Anas has deserts, forests, mountains, etc., etc. However, most of this plane seems to be made up of softly rolling plains.
Climate: It varies, yes?
Type of Plane: Pre-Medieval. Around the same era as the original one.
Principal Deities: The Plane of Masks is ruled by two principal deities: Charl and his mate, Sienn. Charl is considered the more powerful of the two. Charl is mostly pictured as a tall, dark man with the mask of a jet black bear with a streak of white down its forehead, while Sienn is a pale lady wearing the mask of a white wolf, with a streak of black down its forehead.
There are also some minor godlings.
Notes: Mayskad Anas is considered one of the more 'visiting-demi-friendly' planes as Charl and Sienn don't mind visiting demis most of the time, believing them to be good experience for their Maysk. The other godlings, however, may have different opinions, so it's best to stay out of their way.
Oh and it's probably for the best if the visiting demi brings a mask, unless they want to be burned as a 'demon'. Especially if they're more alien in looks.
