Name of Place: Kestas (See? I can do short names.)
Geography: Desolate, rocky plains for miles around hide another underground city. Kestas refers to the numerous caverns and passages around the area. The three major cities are Mehikus, Jobsha and Mekisha, all located in different caverns and connected by tunnels. If Kestas was the universe, then the three cities would be the center of the universe as pretty much everything revolves around them.
Nothing lives above ground.
Climate: It's under the ground, which means it's rather cold. It's also dark and sometimes dank.
In the desolate plains, there seems to be some sort of enchantment. The sun is wan, and there is no wind nor rain.
People Groups: The city of Mehikus is home to drow elves, known also as dark elves. They are a dark-skinned people, very much like the moon elves/Laimer. However, their hair is mostly white, silver or gray, which darkens very slightly with age. They can see in 'infrared-vision', which means that they can detect heat. While seeing in the infrared spectrum, the eyes of the drow glow red. Otherwise, their eye-colour is mostly silver. Most dark elves are small and lean, silent and deadly.
Jobsha is home to a race similar to the half-dragons. However, they call themselves Kreshi. They are also commonly known as 'dragonmen', since that's what they are. Kreshi are humanoid, but covered with diamond-hard scales. The colour varies between different families. All Kreshi have extremely sharp teeth, and a long muscled tail. Most also have wings and horns. Their hands and feet are clawed, and most don't wear shoes. Kreshi are tall and well-muscled.
A quirk of nature or divine interference allow the drow and Kreshi to breed. The result of this is an entirely new race known as Virka. Virka look more like drow, and are typically shorter than Kreshi, but taller than dark elves. Their teeth are sharper than normal, but not as prominent as the teeth of Kreshi. Most Virka don't have tails, but if they do, their tails are short and rather stubby. Virka do have some scales, mostly dark in colour, same or slightly different from their skin colour. Their scales are found around their eyes, tails(if they have any), hands and feet. Virka nails are much harder than normal, and they typically let them grow long and sharp.
The cavern city of Mekisha is home to the Virka population, as well as the scattered races that can be found around Kestas.
Culture:
Drow-
Chaotic and malicious creatures by nature, drow elves are allies of Malar. They desire the destruction of Silva and elves. Now, if only they can stop fighting among themselves long enough to help. Dark elves more more magically inclinced than their neighbours, and even the lowliest of drow peasants have innate magical abilities. Dark elves specialize in the destruction and mind magic.
Anarki is the 'unofficial' patron demi. If Keyi wasn't allied with the Silvans, she would be granted a high place in this society as drow enjoy nothing more than manipulating their 'friends' and using magic similar to those of falcons, only much more destructive. As it is, her name is spoken with respect. Laverna, being a chaotic demi, isn't revered, but unlike her sister Zana, her name isn't spoken with condenscing manners, especially since her defection. Faelynder, being so similar to Keyi, is respected.
Drow elves are also among the finest of assassins, which means that Phenol is also granted a high place in society. Sadly, they aren't united, ambition taking place before all else, which means that Kira is rarely spoken of.
Kreshi-
More or less the exact opposite of drow. A typical Kreshi is loyal, war-like, blunt and straight to the point. Kreshi are fine warriors, their physcial features making them formidable already. Coupled with their fine weapons, a Kreshi army is almost unstoppable. Luckily for the rest, Kreshi are few in number. Also, they loathe the light of the surface world.
Kreshi are highly suspicious of magic, and no Kreshi born has ever been able to master more than a few minor spells. Although they are allied with the drow elves, Kreshi don't trust them much, but they work well as a team, the dark elves providing magic and strategies, while the Kreshi provide physical might.
Kira is revered more than any other immortal, including the gods. Malar is also followed. No Kreshi would speak of any immortal with disrespect.
Virka-
If drow are magically-inclined and Kreshi are warriors, then Virka are balanced. Most of this race are clerics, able to call upon Malar or any other dark deity for their power. Virka are trained in both the magical arts as well as combat, but the majority of their education is dedicated to learning about the immortals. They are strong in their faith to the point of being fanatic, but nobody minds. Divine assistance is always welcome, after all.
Virka never cut their silver hair, which is mostly done up in intricate braids or hanging loose. Religious festivals are very common, taking place at least once every two weeks.
Current Events:
The drow elves are chaotic as always, which wouldn't be a problem, except Malar grows annoyed. If the drow, the Kreshi and the Virka join up with Malar's side against the Silvans, then Malar would be nigh unstoppable. Pity was, they are all creatures of the darkness, and most of them can't stand sunlight. Not to mention the drow can't stop bickering (or stabbing each other in the back) long enough to be of any use.
Perhaps the Kreshi would have helped Malar, but they have their own problems to deal with. Some of their patrols have been ambushed by what seemed like a new creature to Kestas. Despite being fearsome warriors, the Kreshi are no match for these creatures, which worries all three of the main Kestas races.
Also, some of the higher ranking Kreshi seem to be becoming corrupted. They are making 'unholy' alliances with the drow elves and the Virka. This has, naturally, caused a lot of concern, but no one has dared say anything yet.
The Virka are having problems as well. Since their population is much smaller than the other two, their city Mekisha has been home to other, scattered races. There has been a peace between them ever since the 'inferior' races settled down, but now the other races seem to be about to rebel. Worst of all, Malar has been quiet to the Virka lately...Some game of the god perhaps? Or maybe he's just busy building a Colosseum...
