Name of Place:Quariala
Geography Quariala is a beautiful archipelago that lies far east of Orangia. Five different islands make it up and a system of boats makes it easy to get from one to another. Crystal blue waters surround it and fish are in abundance in the beautiful ocean.
The main island named Alira is where the capital is. It is not the biggest of the five but considered the most important. A beautiful stone pyramid stands in the middle, and takes up most of the island. The priests and nobles live there, the highest in rank at the very top. It¡¯s generally very quiet although it gets loud if a meeting is called or a sacrifice is made to the immortals. No commoners live here because Alira is considered a sacred place, only fit for priests and nobles. This island is also infested with snakes, although they¡¯re not poisonous.
Slightly west of Alira is Ketene where most of the fishing takes place. Many huts are scattered about the island and many fisherman live here to do their fishing. The coast is littered all around with small boats bobbing up and down. The population here is almost completely made out of men, and most do not make their permanent homes there.
Even more west of Ketene the smallest of the islands. Named Lavwan a it is an atoll. Nobody lives here and there is not much worth coming there for so it¡¯s very quiet. It is said that clams deep under the water hold pearls but nobody has ever found them. Some foolish enough to try diving have never come back and Lavwan is considered haunted by the dead divers. In truth, a small temple of the mer folk rests there and they guard it ferociously.
East of Alira is Juvene where the farming takes place. It is the largest island and most of the houses are on this island. The children, women, and elders all live on it. They farm seaweed in fields of water and other crops on the land. Others dive for clams and oysters. The good fish are scared away because people are in the water constantly and the fishing here is very poor.
The furthest east from Alira, and closest to the shores of other lands is where Finur is. A market place is sprawled across the island and a few shops dot the island. It is chaos in the market and easy to get lost. Many end up robbed, either of their goods or money. Still it has nearly everything you can dream of and is a great place to trade.
Climate:It is warm for a great part of the year although it does snow once a year because of something Larantia was angry about. It¡¯s very humid and temperatures are typically very warm there.
People Groups:The Quarialans of the land are obviously the main group of Quariala. They are short people with prominently long legs. Their skins look lightly tanned and their hair is a dark brown or black. They are a peaceful group and have not waged war in centuries.
The other group of Quariala are the Merfolk, who live in a small temple below Lavwan. They worship Larantia, and only her and guard their temple of pearl ferociously. Anyone who comes down too far are taken as a prisoner and are held there for the rest of their lives. (or at least until they decide Larantia needs another sacrifice..) Nobody has escaped so far¡¦although you never know. They do not war with the Quarialans who live on the land. They¡¯re a peaceful type and they only take prisoners to keep their secrecy.
Culture:
Their main food, if not their favorite is fish. Most of the peasants have fish at every meal no matter how poor they are. Most of the commoners wear clothing made out of seaweed. It is a very special type, one that only grows in the waters of Quariala. They are diligent fishers and farmers and their crops are famous through many lands.
Immortals
Sandrilene-The commoners thank her for the weavable seaweed that she granted them.
Laverna-The people worship her for (mainly) being part of Larantia¡¯s family and giving them chance.
Zana-The people (young couples who ran away) thank them for the power to err¡¦feel lust? And (manily) for just being a child of Larantia.
Larantia-The people thank her for giving them such a nice place to live?

Current Events:
The children of the king have both died of some mysterious disease. The King himself is old and frail and it looks as though e will pass away soon. A heir to the throne must be found and the only one left is the child that was taken by the merfolk. The king is frantically sending out search parties to Lavwan. Meanwhile the merfolk are taking the disturbances of their water as a bad omen and ripping through even more sacrifices.
